Supervised visitation across the City of Albuquerque

Albuquerque is New Mexico's largest city — more than half a million residents spread from the Sandia foothills down to the Rio Grande and across the river to the fast-growing Westside. The drive from the far Northeast Heights to the South Valley can take 40 minutes in traffic on I-25 and I-40. That geography matters when a court orders supervised visitation — most providers schedule from one fixed office, which forces the parent who lives farthest away to absorb the cost of every additional mile.

TruVisit New Mexico does it differently. Our supervisors meet families at mutually convenient public locations across the entire Albuquerque metro, chosen with the child's comfort and the court order's safety conditions in mind. We don't charge mileage. We don't charge travel time.

Albuquerque neighborhoods we regularly serve

  • Downtown & Old Town — including the museum district near Tiguex Park
  • Nob Hill & the University area
  • Uptown — the Louisiana Boulevard corridor
  • Northeast Heights — from Uptown to the Sandia foothills
  • North Valley & Los Ranchos — along the Rio Grande bosque
  • South Valley — including the Westgate and Pajarito areas
  • Westside — Taylor Ranch, Ventana Ranch, Paradise Hills
  • Southeast Heights — the Nob Hill-to-Kirtland corridor
  • Foothills — High Desert, Tanoan, Sandia Heights
  • East Mountains — Tijeras and the Route 66 corridor east of the city

Common Albuquerque meet-up locations

Locations are selected case-by-case based on the court order, the child's age, and what makes sense for the visit. Public, family-appropriate venues we use regularly:

  • Old Town Plaza and the surrounding museum district
  • ABQ BioPark — Aquarium, Botanic Garden, and Zoo (indoor and outdoor options)
  • Explora Science Center and Children's Museum (indoor option)
  • Tingley Beach and the Rio Grande bosque trails
  • City parks throughout the Northeast Heights and Westside
  • Albuquerque public library branches across the city
  • Family-appropriate restaurants in Nob Hill, Uptown, and along the Westside

Albuquerque summers run hot and the high-desert sun is intense. From June through August we lean toward shaded or indoor venues for the child's comfort and to avoid heat-safety issues that compromise visit quality.

The Second Judicial District Court

Family law cases for Albuquerque and Bernalillo County — including supervised visitation orders — are heard by the Second Judicial District Court, New Mexico's busiest judicial district. Our session reports are formatted in the objective, non-editorial, timestamped style district court judges expect.

Custody and visitation in New Mexico are governed primarily by NMSA 1978, Chapter 40, which controls custody, parenting plans, and timesharing. For the broader process, see our guide to the New Mexico family court process.

If your court order is from the Second Judicial District Court Have a copy of the order ready when you call. The two things we most need to confirm during intake: the type of supervision ordered (full supervised visitation vs. monitored exchange vs. therapeutic), and any specific location or duration requirements written in the order. We can typically schedule a first session within 48–72 hours of intake completion.

How supervised visitation in Albuquerque actually works

  1. Submit an inquiry — the form on our home page. We respond within 24 hours.
  2. Intake call — 20–30 minutes by phone. We review your court order, confirm requirements, collect the $150 intake fee, and assign a TruVisit-certified supervisor.
  3. Schedule the first session — We coordinate with both parties and confirm a time and location in writing.
  4. The visit happens — A certified supervisor is present for the full session and documents observations in real time.
  5. Report delivered — A court-formatted written report is delivered within 24 hours to you, your attorney, or directly to the court depending on your order.
